Things The World Has Gone Crazy With

Things The World Has Gone Crazy With
(Which Need To Be Stopped ASAP)

There are certain things which most of us tend to do, things which we are obsessed with doing. Things which the world is taking to new levels, with an ever increasing portion! Things which we really have to stop doing -NEED to stop doing immediately.

Here I have listed down 13 such things which the world has gone overboard with, which ought to be stopped ASAP.

Things which we need to stop doing-

1.     Stereotyping:
This is the most highly succumbed to thing by almost 90% of the world population. We tend to stereotype categories of people to specific boundaries. Like= Women cannot read maps.. Or the "mard ko dard nahi hota” syndrome. & this one especially for my best friend- all South Indians love South Indian cuisine. It is high time we all stop this categorization of people on common external factors. Stereotyping is a total no-no.

2.     Worrying:
We all need to stop worrying about everything & nothing. I have seen people going hyper over minor things like what to wear, over scoring a few less marks, or over things like having an illness or not getting the desired package. I mean c'mon, life isn't dependant on such things. Neither will worrying about issues - however big or small- will earn you anything. So why worry & lessen your happy life? All that worrying will do is, recede your hairline &effect your health!

3.     The Diet Scenarios:
I m so sick & tired of the word "dieting" now, that I feel like smacking every single person (read girl) who even utters that word before me. Trust me, most of what you think of dieting is either not the right concept or is something totally mythical. If you really want to lose on that weight- what you actually need is exercising & a bit of a control (& use of brain) over your eating habits. You need not sacrifice those cheese pizzas or the yummy Chinese, every day. I mean c'mon, we are in our 20's for God’s sake & healthy! Just giving up everything from the age of 20- not eating out, not having French fries, eating boiled vegetables, compromising Maggie for oats, having green teas instead of cold coffees- people is it even life? When you grow up to 40's you'll definitely have to give up a lot of things, then why now?! I am not saying that you should start eating only junk &eat everything & anything- but you needn’t go so overboard with the so called "dieting". At least get your facts cleared before you plunge into one!

4.     Clicking Pictures:
First things first, let me tell you I absolutely love clicking pictures & I love getting clicked even more. Most of us love it & there's nothing wrong in that. But yes, I feel we tend to overdo the thing a tad too much these days. Everywhere that we go; all we do is click pictures. Went to a mall, click a picture. Went to a theme park, click a picture... Visited the hospital, click a selfie! For gods’ sake- who the hell clicks pictures at hospitals! There was a recent report which stated a man went to a funeral & clicked a selfie with the corpse- what are we up to? How more indecent & immature can one be? We need to stop taking the tagline "everything makes us click" so damn seriously. I mean what?! Just think people. Has life come to only clicking pictures in your iPhones or your Samsung's, uploading them on as many social sites as available & then never seeing them again? Won’t it be more of a memory to actually spend time with your friends or family "actually conversing" than just making photographic memories? I guess, at 23's & 25's, we should be aware where to draw the line- when your sole reason of defining fun zeros down to "clicking pictures", you need to evaluate your life- trust me!

5.     Excessive Photoshop:
Point 4 follows up to point 5. I have seen people photo-shopping their pictures so much that you practically cannot identify them. I agree, making yourself look prettier is always so good- a few of editing is always fun...You know, adding those cool filters or brightening the photos or some spot reduction here &there. But editing it to an extent that you look white from dusky, or thin from fat- well, that's too much fakeness, isn’t it?

6.     Wastage of Water:
We all waste water so much! Like so very much. We really need to stop wasting water - & I need not go into the specifics of how to not waste water as we definitely aren't school kids. But yes, do take efforts to save some water every time that you can.

7.     Being Hypocrites:
When Amir Khan went live quoting that "gaali deke audience attract karna" is not nice, people called him a hypocrite. For the obvious reason- Delhi Belly. &wasn't it true? Of course it was. But we all have some form/ part of hypocrisy within us. We will obviously kiss & make out at every possible chance, but if we see somebody else doing it - be it in public or on screen, we will shy away from it or make faces!  We really need to abstain ourselves from being cynical & accept things& views with unbiased opinions. I must say here that the entire AIB Roast episode showcased a lot of hypocrites in our society.

8.     Blindly Following Fashion:
This, I have seen a lot! People, especially women, tend to follow fashion blindly. What is in the market is on them. But ladies, fashion isn't something which is restricted to only following & wearing the in things as soon as they show up in the market. It is something which exudes an aura- which makes you look good, confident& comfortable. What point of following a fashion if it makes you strut in those extra- high heels? Or is it really fashion if your epitome thickness of thighs is visible in that mini skirt? Think girls, think! Most of the time in your desire to follow fashion, you end up looking a total idiot or even indecent at times- is that really fashion? Please take an expert advice the next time you have an urge to blindly pick up something that Alia Bhatt or Kareena Kapoor flaunted on screen.

9.     Wasting Paper:
Oh god! We all waste so much paper! Like so much! For no absolute reason! I do not understand why we still need to prepare office notes or minutes or records on paper in spite of having such lovely efficient computers! & such awesome Microsoft Office. I mean why waste around about 100 sheets of paper in taking the print outs when you can simple mail the same to every single person. We have some such good software’s coming up in the industry that all this paper wastage can be easily stopped. But the problem is, we don't. & we should!

This is one great email-signature I found!

10.    Multiple Unrelated Degrees:
This is so much in vogue! People take up 3+ degrees simultaneously, most of them unrelated to each other. I see a dentist taking up a 3-year law course &I see a mechanical engineer doing an MBA in Marketing. What is it with us? We are obsessed with adding up degrees under our names so much that we take up courses totally unrelated to our base professions. Why? Won’t it be better if we just stick to our base profession & attain a higher & a more higher degree (& some actual knowledge) in it, instead of hopping onto various degrees, just for the sake of it?! It’s high time we need to stop grabbing onto multiple degrees since the very beginning- otherwise we will just end up having a highly underutilized educated mass.

11.  Comparison between Bollywood & Hollywood:
Like stop. Just stop. Comparison is always bad- what is good is competition. But we tend to resort to comparison. Why, I ask, do we constantly need to compare each of our Bollywood release with that of Hollywood? The genres & the movie making styles are so totally different! You cannot compare classical music concert with a Rap concert, right? & you just cannot judge both of them with the same yardstick! Did you ever see Hollywood comparing with Bollywood? Because they know their genre of movie making is something totally different. Stop this constant comparison with Hollywood. If all movies would be of the same style, it would just be boredom. Instead of the constant comparison & also the constant criticism of Bollywood, learn to enjoy it. You have the option of watching both the generes- you also have the option of completely Never watching one of them- so why the mindless comparison?

12.   Blindly following the Customs & Traditions:
Really, when the next time you see a karva chauth, try to find out the reason for the same. How many of us know the scientific reason for Vat-Savitri? Il tell you what I know- in the ancient times, when women used to be cooped up inside their houses & all they did was looking after the family & cooking-&-cleaning, this occasion let them go out  of the house for long hours, meet up their friends, have some good time, & gettt someee oxygennn beneath thatt banyan tree! How will the damn tree give you the same husband for next 7 lives!?? All it will give you is some heavy good oxygen to make your phephde work good! So before you blindly follow something, try to find out a reason- & if you don't find one, like I still haven't found a valid reason why some women do not visit the temples during their menstruation (periods), I do not follow it. So if you don't find a good reason to stick to an age old custom, don't! We need to brandish some of these good-for-nothing craziness which are fondly called customs!

13.  Phone Addiction:
Somewhere down, we all know this, that we are too much addicted to our phones. Some of us also know the "I need to stop" thing, but we just cannot let go of our smart phones. We just have to keep ourselves busy with the constant WhatsApp, Facebook & Instagrams- that we do not have the time to see around us. People sit into groups & WhatsApp each other. Why? You have the ability to talk, then why this? Every time you are out with your friends, you don't have to be constantly on WhatsApp, chatting with your other set of friends. Every time you are in the living room with your family, you don't have to keep scrolling through your facebook news feed, you can simply better have a conversation with them! The world won’t end if you do not use your phone for a few hours. Trust me; nothing will change in the world if you keep away your phone for a few hours each day. The only thing that will change is, you will start having a life!

These are some of my observations-, which I think people have gone overboard with.
Feel free to add up your own!
